Edmonton, AB will play host to the ICTF Provincial Championships on October 30, 2010. The tournament, coined “The Haunting” because it takes place around Halloween will be an exciting event not to be missed by anyone! Mr. M was a part of the 2010 instructor training that took place on August 28 & 29. It was a great training weekend with over 30 ICTF instructors from across BC and Alberta as well as Master Cariati from Ontario. The training was led by Master Stanley and Master Cariati and covered lots of material including patterns, step sparring, self defense and kicking. It was a fantastic weekend and as a result, Mr. M is extra enthusiastic and ready to kick start the 2010-2011 season.
We have new t-shirts in stock and ready to go. There are red shirts and black shirts of all sizes available at a cost of $15. We will have them for you at registration night on September 8th. Just a reminder that due to hot weather, we permit the wearing of our Trinity TKD shirts instead of dobok tops during the months of September, May and June. Get your new shirt while they last!

If you need info on what class to attend or what your fees for the year will be, please contact us by email. New students are also welcome to attend on September 8th to try out a free class. This is going to be a great season and we are really looking forward to it.

This year’s year end wrap-up celebration will take place on Saturday June 26th at the Cochrane Ranche from 1:00-3:00pm. We will meet by the fire pits at the front of the Ranche and we will provide some light snacks. Please bring water, lawn chairs, and any games that you may wish to play or share with others. There will be no TKD specific activities so doboks are not to be worn. Bring the whole family out for some fun to celebrate another awesome year of training. See you at the Ranche!

Our students have been invited to attend a martial arts camp from August 20-22 around Cranbrook in southern BC. The camp will focus on both Filipino and Japanese Martial Arts. Cost is $85 and includes camping and an outdoor activity. For more information, please contact Mr. M or speak to Mr. Henn in class.
The Women’s Self Defense Workshop held on May 27 in Cochrane was a great event. Thank you to all of the participants for supporting a great cause and for coming out to learn something new. Everyone did a fantastic job, learned a lot and seemed to enjoy themselves.
Compassion in Action is an organization that raises funds to combat human trafficking in five hot spots around the world including Cambodia, Ethiopia, Costa Rica, Ukraine and Calgary. It’s true… human trafficking happens even on the streets of Calgary. As a fundraiser for Compassion in Action, Trinity TKD is hosting a Women’s Self Defense Workshop (age 14+) to raise money for the cause. The workshop cost is $25, and operates from 6:30pm-8:30pm on May 27 at Bow Valley Baptist Church in Cochrane. To register and secure a spot, call 403-998-8539 or email trinitytkd@hotmail.com. Invite some friends and come join us for a few hours of basic street smart self defense.

On Saturday May 15th, Focus TKD (from Chestermere) will be hosting a pattern seminar instructed by Master Stanley (VIII Dan). I highly encourage all Trinity members to attend this event. The seminar will be held in Strathmore, AB from 9:00am-noon for color belts and from 2:00pm-5:00pm for black belts. Cost is $30. Additional $10 for black belts wishing to attend the color belt session. Register in class, by phone or by email.
