The ICTF Tri-Provincial Championships will be taking place on Oct 27, 2012 in Prince George, BC and is being hosted by Horizon TKD. Please contact us for more information and for a copy of the registration form.

Thanks to those who participated in the ICTF Calgary City Championships on March 17 at SAIT. I have heard some great things about the tournament. We had some students participate in their first ever TKD tournament and many people bring home medals. Well done.

1. ICTF Calgary City Championships to be held on Saturday, March 17 at SAIT. You should already have the registration form in your email inbox. I am looking forward to seeing how many members our club can generate to support this amazing tournament. Last year we had 16 people compete. I’d love to see over 20 go this year. Let’s get out there and support our ICTF tournaments!
2. ICTF Western Canadian Championships to be held in May 2012 in Edmonton, AB. Stay tuned for more information.
Remember, ALL ages and belt levels are encouraged to attend these tournaments. This includes Li’l Kickers who always have a blast and are so fun to watch!
From what I hear, everyone had a blast at our annual Trinity-Horizon Inter-Club Competition held on Saturday, January 21. It was great to see so many people participating in patterns, sparring, refereeing, judging and also volunteering. Thank you to everyone who helped make this a successful event.
Thank you to the 17 Red and Black belt students that attended the Instructor Training Course on Jan 12 and 13. This was a very successful course, allowing our highest ranking students to get more familiar with both instructing and assistant instructing classes. The consistency and professionalism that we demonstrate as a group is wonderful to see. I am very proud of all of you for participating in this course and so thankful for the many hours that you devote each month to helping make our club a great place to train.

On Sunday October 2nd, the ICTF will be having a referee course from 9am-noon at 106, 20 Sunpark Plaza SE.
All red belts and higher, 13 years and older, are welcome to attend. Anyone wishing to refresh themselves on the techniques of refereeing and already have a valid referee certificate can do so for free. Anyone needing to upgrade to a higher level, qualify for the first time, or re-certify an expired certificate may do so as well.
Upgrade – C to B or B to A = $50 (Shirt and certificate)
Qualify 1st time – A, B, or C level = $100 (shirt, certificate, book, DVD)
Re-certify – A, B, or C level = $30 (certificate)
Refresh – A, B, or C level = no charge
This 3 hour course will cover judging for patterns, corner judging for sparring and center referee position. All signals, procedures, and protocols.

Come and learn from one of the best. A sparring seminar instructed by Mr. Scott is being hosted in Calgary on Friday September 30th from 5:00pm-8:00pm. This is a must for anyone looking to become a better martial artist. The event will take place at 599 Northmount Drive NW, Calgary, AB. All ages and belt levels are invited to attend. Bring your sparring gear and be prepared to sweat! Some of the topics being covered include: combinations, footwork, offensive/defensive tactics, sneaky strategies, using the ring, mental game and Winning the Crowd! There are some big tournaments this year and we want Trinity to have another successful year of competition.
Mr. Scott is not only one of the best in the business but also my original TKD instructor. Please come and learn from him as he has a lot to offer in the area of sparring. If interested, register in class, email or phone.

Thank you to all who came out to the board breaking event and also for those who supported me financially. I was able to break all 200 boards and raised well over $1000 for the Haiti project. Although I am a bit sore today, it was well worth the effort! Thank you once again.
